I haven’t spent any time with the retail or beta versions of Starcraft 2, and I can barely recall having any sort of meaningful experience with the first Starcraft, so I’m not the best guy to ask. But doesn’t this sequel strike you as one of the more cynical releases in recent memory?

Sometimes I just don’t get a game. That’s not a bold statement, or even a very interesting one now that I think about it. It’s just what happens sometimes. Whatever underlying character or skill set that game has, it’s just not jumping out at me. Sometimes, like in the case of infamous, I’ll just ride out the experience because there’s nothing holding me back anyway. Jump around, you crazy guy. At least it looks like he’s having a good time.

The PSOne classic store is more of a testing ground to see if games can still hold their own with the flashiest of graphics and most epic of storylines. Not only a test to see how they hold up, but these games also have the scrutiny of being blown up on a 42” high definition television. While most prerendered backgrounds still look pretty good, clumsily navigating those backgrounds with a blocky character can really turn a person off.

It’s like stumbling across a box of keepsakes in your basement. It’s a box that has been collecting dust and might have a few mouse chew marks through the cardboard. You knew it was downstairs, but the classic out of sight out of mind took hold and you forgot about it. Then spring cleaning comes, and you swear that you’re going to get the basement cleaned, but then you come across this box.

Let’s get this straight. I love Windows 7. I have almost no complaints about it. I turn my computer on, 35 seconds later my desktop is up. Things are slick, smooth, and streamlined.
