Most game companies say the next generation of gaming console will be here in 2-3 years. The logical progression will be fully digital distribution, which means the resale market disappears.

The PSOne classic store is more of a testing ground to see if games can still hold their own with the flashiest of graphics and most epic of storylines. Not only a test to see how they hold up, but these games also have the scrutiny of being blown up on a 42” high definition television. While most prerendered backgrounds still look pretty good, clumsily navigating those backgrounds with a blocky character can really turn a person off.
Rockstar did it. They finally did it. They’ve made me a believer of the open world game.
It’s like stumbling across a box of keepsakes in your basement. It’s a box that has been collecting dust and might have a few mouse chew marks through the cardboard. You knew it was downstairs, but the classic out of sight out of mind took hold and you forgot about it. Then spring cleaning comes, and you swear that you’re going to get the basement cleaned, but then you come across this box.
Unreal 3 is probably the most used game engines today and its getting to the point where one game can’t be distinguished from another. When a game doesn’t use the Unreal engine, they mimic it as if that’s the only way to create a blockbuster. Killzone 2 used Havok, but you sure as hell wouldn’t know it.
Ghostbusters the Video Game surprises in so many ways, almost all of them in rewarding ways.
It wants so badly to have the addictive multiplayer of “Left 4 Dead.” Setting four pirates into a team and giving them point by point objectives while fighting the hordes.
The Long Linear Road
I’m at the beginning of chapter 7 in Final Fantasy XIII. It took me about 13 hours to get here. I’m not sure if that’s including the couple times I’ve died during epic boss battles and had to start them over. According to all the reviews I’ve read, I’m still 4 chapters away from when the game really opens up.

The anger has subsided a bit. EA announced a plan to charge $10 to play their sports games online if they are bought used or rented. My gut reaction was to burn down EA Sports head quarters. Start massive protests. Come up with a few billion dollars and start up a new 2K Sports, just to dig at EA a little.
